Energy Consulting Overview

At LGP we have developed a line of services which complement our Electricity Retail. This new line of services is known as LGP Energy Consulting.

Electricity Data Analysis

The first of these services is an analysis of client electricity meter data, available only to businesses consuming over 160MWh (aggregated over all meters) of electricity per year. As a leader in electricity retail services in Western Australia, LGP has developed a set of innovative electricity data analysis systems, to provide a fast and effective assessment of client electricity consumption and costs. Through such an analysis, LGP can pinpoint opportunities for savings based on consumption and load profile changes and or change of electricity supply. The only charge for the client is a small percentage of savings for two years, with the financial benefits continuing long into the future. If no substantial savings are found, the only cost will be a small fixed charge.

Energy Audit

The second service is a complete Sustainability Assessment, limited to businesses consuming 50MWh or more of electricity per year, involving a level 2 audit of facilities, processes and devices in regards to energy (electricity and gas), water, waste, transport and emissions. The audit process begins with a pre-audit survey, with which LGP can gather some simple but important information regarding client processes, energy and resource consumption and facility size, as well as utility billing. LGP will then conduct an onsite collection of device and process data, including consultation with management and staff.

The result of the audit will be a detailed report containing an inventory of energy and resource use, devices and emissions, giving a complete carbon footprint for the business. To provide the best possible service, LGP have partnered with Village Green Environmental Solutions Pty Ltd, an Australian owned and based global provider of effective energy and environmental assessments as well as resource and carbon auditing systems in the form of web based software. The inventory of energy and resource use will be verified with utility billing, with the reconciliation of substantial differences as per Australian Standard AS/NZ 3598:2000. Also included in the report, will be a set of prioritised strategies for efficiency improvements and opportunities for reduction in energy and resource use, outlining cost vs. financial and environmental benefit including payback analysis. Any relevant advice will be given on: funding opportunities for efficiency projects, liabilities or compliance issues, carbon offsets, and demand side management opportunities.

The final stage involves the implementation process. LGP will consult with management and staff and present the audit report and recommendations and advise on the implementations of these recommendations, including advice on behaviour change. The result of implementing the suggested changes will be improved efficiencies and reduced consumption of energy and resources, all resulting in substantial savings and reduced environmental impact year after year.
